It has been a busy summer here at Steam School HQ. We have been working with our tech partners – Citrus Suite to develop the Steam School Platform to help empower a generation of scientists, engineers and tech entrepreneurs.
Please be introduced to the new Steam School programme:
EMPOWERING A GENERATION:
The world needs a generation of scientists, engineers, inventors and entrepreneurs who are ready to solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
STEAM education removes limitations, encouraging independent learning and inspires wonder, critique, enquiry, and innovation. All of which is a perfect foundation for preparing young people for ‘future jobs’ – 65% of which the World Economic Forum predicts – haven’t even been invented yet.
The Steam School platform combines STEAM powered project based learning with weekly broadcasts from global STEAM experts. The platform includes the following features:
Steam School hosts 6 missions every academic year exploring some of the world’s most pressing issues, showcasing #STEAM4good projects, futuristic technology and inspirational role models.
Each mission lasts 5/6 weeks and includes a weekly live broadcast with a STEAM expert.
Each mission includes 18 STEAM powered challenges for students to complete as scientists, engineers, digital makers, entrepreneurs, artists and campaigners.
Students can earn digital badges for each completed challenge and collect points for their locker room by completing weekly broadcast learning activities.
Our first mission – “Fly Me To..” begins today – exploring faster, greener and smarter travel with an electronic car campaigner, a drones4good designer, an urban air mobility expert, a flying taxi entrepreneur and a Virgin One hyperloop engineer.
• We have created a teacher dashboard so that schools can track, monitor and celebrate student achievement.
• The Steam School Platform has been designed to provide busy schools with a fantastic and flexible programme.
• Students are issued with their own login helping schools to use the programme in lessons, enrichment clubs and even homework!
